plus Speciality

I am a broadly trained physiologist interested in the comparative biology of aging at both the cellular and whole organism level.  I received a BS in Biology from SUNY Geneseo in 1994, followed by a PhD in Zoology from the Universirty of Idaho where Steve Austad served as my mentor.  In 2000, I went to the University of Michigan as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pathology and was promoted to the faculty (research track) in 2004.

Academic positions:

Research Investigator, Department of Pathology

Research interests:

The effect of early life events, especially nutritional intake, on aging and longevity in mice.  The role of cytotoxic and metabolic stress resistance as a modulator of species life span using primary cell lines.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral and WebmedCentral plus:

It is a wonderful idea that will do much for research into aging, and the life sciences in general.
