Biography:

I am General and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon with Lutz Surgical Partners practicing in the Naples, Florida area. I have started in private practice after practicing as a staff surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic, where I have also completed a two year fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery. At the Cleveland Clinic, I have held positions with Cleveland Clinic Innovations and the Center for Surgical Innovation, Technology, and Education, located at the main campus in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Talarico completed a General Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, is licensed by the State Medical Boards of Florida, and is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. My specialty interests include advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric surgery, and single incision laparoscopic surgery. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Case Western Reserve University, I have received my medical degree from the University of Toledo School of Medicine in Toledo, Ohio. I have lectured at every major surgical society on laparoscopic and bariatric surgery and related topics at medical conferences across the country, and has authored and co-authored over 65 publications including articles and book chapters that have appeared in leading surgical journals, such as Surgical Endoscopy, Surgery for Obesity and Related Disease, Hernia, Surgery for the Alimentary Tract, and American College of Surgeons. I am an expert in medical legal matters and I have been involved in numerous research projects in my field, and has been an integral part of developing new methods of performing less invasive laparoscopic operations including Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery and NOTES procedures.
