plus Speciality

The field of my research interest is Metabolomics. My long term research goal is to identify the unique metabolic markers for cancer cells. This would help in developing more selective drug for cancer cells. This could be achieved by studying the energy, amino acid and lipid metabolism of normal and cancer cells extensively. Additionally, the differential gene(s) expression of WT and drug target for metabolic gene(s) would give insight into the mechanism of drug resistance. In my PhD work, using metabolic engineering and microbiology tools, I identified the regulatory mechanism of acetoin catabolism and anabolism. In similar pattern, metabolic pathways of cancer cells would be engineered and its effect on cancer cell proliferation would be studied. During my postdoc work at Department of Veterinary Bioscience, The Ohio State University, Ohio, I learned and established the newer approach of gene knockdown by “Peptide Nucleic acid”. Additionally, I learned and gained expertize in animal work. These skills gained during my doctoral and postdoctoral would help me to achieve my goals. Currently, I am working at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Ohio State University and identifying the essential metabolic pathways for gliomas.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral and WebmedCentral plus:

I think webmedCentral and WebmedCentral plus give researchers an opportunity to publish their open research and available to all. The open review empowers authors, speed their publication and press accountability. In addition to this, authors get to keep the license which empowers them, assure them and make the hard work for research and publication worth.
